I booked a ski chalet for next February through paypal earlier having sent a few emails back and forth to the propieter. The booking deposit was paid through Paypal, which was nice & convenient. It’s always a little bit unnerving clicking the “submit” button for such a large sum of money and everything gets double-checked before you do.
It was with surprise that I had a phone call only minutes later from the US asking me if it was in fact me who had made the payment. I was instantly on guard in case it was a scammer but they were purely checking who I had made the payment to and if it was in fact me who had made the payment. That done, it was the end of the call.
In the days of e-commerce, it’s positive that companies like Paypal are paying attention to the small things and taking the time to ensure that their customers don’t get scammed. Fair play to them!
